About the Brewery...
Daleside Brewery is situated in Harrogate, the Victorian spa town on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Brewery uses traditional ingredients and methods to brew distinctive beers of character, with a full mouth feel and a range of complex tastes.
Crackshot Ale was launched in 1998 at Ripley Castle and is brewed from a 17th Century recipe found in the castle library by Sir Thomas Ingilby, who subsequently approached Daleside Brewery to brew from it.
About the Beer...
Crackshot Ale has a nutty, malty flavour with a hint of citrus and caramel. It is a well-balanced, medium brown ale. Crack Shot is one of the few ales to use malted oats and gives a hint of sweetness on the finish. A heroine of an ale with enough personality to hold ground in any company; beautiful to behold and adaptable enough to swig on its own sip gently with good home cooking.
