Keystone is one of the newest microbreweries in the UK, founded only three years ago in a village off the outskirts Salisbury.  This particular beer began life as a winter warmer, but proved to be so popular and so adaptable that it's now available all year round.  It certainly has the summery look - appetisingly straw-coloured in the glass - but there's a surprise in store, as the name suggests.

On top of the sweet pale malts and the bitterness from Boadicea hops, fresh root ginger brings enjoyable earthy, lemon notes.  Don't be afraid, however: this is not one of those fiery ginger beers that leave you gasping for breath.  It's all rather delicate and nicely balanced with the sort of quenching crispness that really hits the spot at this time of year.
